I’ve tried a number of things to sleep better: melatonin, ZzzQuil, more exercise… the list goes on. Finally, after years of trial and error and nights of restless sleep, I found a few things that work for me. If you’re a “bad sleeper” like I am, hopefully some of these methods can offer you a better night’s rest too.
I know that the phrase “white privilege” can be triggering for a lot of white folks, but we have to be better. That requires acknowledging and understanding our privilege. It requires setting aside egos and feelings. It requires listening and learning how to be an ally, not just doing what we think it means to be one. It requires unlearning. It requires hearing from the voices that are too often unheard. So instead of another white perspective on allyship, I want to give you a list of sources to help you understand what it means to be actively anti-racist.
Cilantro, lime, and tequila combine to make a magical marinade for the easiest ever chicken dinner. How easy? Toss everything in a bag and let the chicken soak up the flavor while you mix up a margarita and kick back… I mean, the tequila’s already out, right?
These are without a doubt the BEST blueberry muffins. They’re easy to whip up, not too sweet, full of plump berries, and have a deliciously buttery, cinnamony crumble topping. They’re healthy (maybe?), so slather them with salted butter, pour a cup of coffee, and enjoy.

What a week. In just a few short days we went from hearing that Italy was shutting down due to COVID-19 to shutting down ourselves. So what does this all mean? Well, it probably means you’re going to be spending a bit more time inside than usual, and you might be going stir-crazy because of it. Making your own juice doesn’t have to be complicated or hard. It’s fun to experiment and see what flavor combinations work and to incorporate fresh produce into your diet. This is one of our go-to juices. It’s packed with vitamin c, is naturally sweet, and has a little spice to it.
I grew up on stroganoff made from Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup. I loved it, but I never knew stroganoff could be more flavorful and have more complexity to it. This recipe, with its creaminess, depth of flavor, slight heat, and hearty thick-cut mushrooms and steak chunks, is a regular in our weeknight dinner rotation.
My Amaretto Cherry Cheesecake might seem intimidating, but it’s more simple than you might think, and the flavor combination is a real showstopper. The main thing to remember when making this recipe is that patience makes perfect cheesecake!
